Currently, the UK‘s eco-design regulations and energy efficiency standards regulations regulate a large number of energy-related products. Setting minimum performance standards through eco-design regulations removes the worst performing products from the market and ensures that consumers are not exposed to products with poorer performance and high running costs, while energy efficiency labels improve the product information available to consumers when purchasing new products, enabling them to purchase the the most energy-efficient products.
